Travel
We appreciate everyone traveling from so far to celebrate our big day!
Most of the major airlines fly into Lisbon Airport (LIS) with direct flights from New York, London, and other major European cities.
Flying into Porto (OPO) is also an option if you want to spend a few days in Portugal’s wine region. Porto is just a 3 hour train or car ride away from Lisbon’s center.
If you plan on attending the festivities, which we hope you do, we would suggest booking airfare as soon as possible as it can get expensive around that time.
Getting Around
There are lots of ways to get into the heart of Lisbon and getting around the city is easy.
There are several car rental options, and both taxis and Ubers are relatively inexpensive.
With that said, please download BOLT ahead of your trip. It's another ride service and it's cheaper than both Uber and Taxis.
Pro Tip: input your credit card information before you leave as well.
If you are feeling more adventurous, Lisbon’s version of the subway/tube is easy to navigate and inexpensive. Tickets can be bought at machines at the station (single tickets are €1.50 and day tickets are €6.60).
Stay
There are so many amazing hotels and Airbnbs in Lisbon!
We have secured discounts at the Sofitel or The One Palacio (where we will be staying). More information on those hotels and other recommendations below.
Feel free to stay at a different hotel or an Airbnb. If so, we recommend staying in the Avenida Liberdade area so you can take advantage of shuttle transportation to and from the wedding.
We have arranged transportation to and from the Wedding on Saturday night which will be going from and returning to both the Sofitel and The One Palacio.
We recommend booking accommodation as soon as possible. Our wedding is during prime summer season and rooms will book up quickly.
